04/23/2022

That is one of the proposals at the business seminar on contributing ideas to the general planning scheme of Thu Duc City organized by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City (HCMC) on March 5.

Mr. Le Hoang Chau, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association, said that it is necessary to restore the planning of the overhead railway connecting goods from Song Than station - Cat Lai port (from Cat Lai port - connecting). Cai Mep - Thi Vai, from Cat Lai connecting Hiep Phuoc port and Tan Lap port - Long An). In addition, Thu Duc City wants to attract international investors to invest heavily in transport infrastructure. Currently, Thu Duc City has been approved a lot of routes connecting with the center of Ho Chi Minh City as well as Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces such as: Ring 2, Ring 3 , Cat Lai bridge, Metro line No. 1… The development of transport infrastructure will attract big investors, the "leading cranes" to invest in Thu Duc City.

Ms. Pham Thi Bich Hue, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Western Pacific Joint Stock Company, said that Thu Duc City is a place with suitable geographical conditions to develop a national logistics center in the area of Cat Lai and Cat Lai ports. neighborhoods.

“In this area, there are enough conditions to form and develop into a national logistics center . It is necessary to develop transport in the direction of multi-modal connection: road, river, air. Thu Duc city should reserve the land fund for businesses with experience in this field to perform the above task,” suggested Ms. Hue.

Thu Duc City has many opportunities for development if the infrastructure is invested synchronously

Sharing the same opinion, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Company, proposed that the Thu Duc city planning should consider the problem of connecting traffic routes between Thu Duc city and neighboring provinces such as: Binh Duong, Dong Nai to Cat Lai port because the volume of goods passing through Cat Lai is very large.
